We don't have a cool name for our product, yet. So we are open to anyone providing cool ideas. Yes we wanted to use Textastic, but sadly someone took that domain already.

Oh hi there, how goes it? Yep, as Scott said we do have our first clients working with our new texting platform.

@jaredbusch 8x8 has that functionality however I am not sure if the cost is too prohibitive for this customer.

so @scottalanmiller going to fork over any information? Or should I just look at the other services that no one has recommended?

This is something that will be done for this client.

Doesn't provide for the need at all. One, that's the carrier service, they don't handle texting. And two, that would lock in a phone service that might not be the desired carrier. (And of course, their prices are super high.)

It's a bit like asking who has a recommended car and say "why not take highway 35?"

Working on getting some screenshots for you. Initial pricing is $12 for a deployment. No idea if that's going to be the full release pricing, but it's where we are right now for early adopters.

Not to steal business away from Scott, but we're doing a PoC, moving from S4B to Zoom Phone... allows you to port your existing numbers and them use sms within Zoom

@JaredBusch I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for.

Are you looking for a SMS gateway or software that can communicate with a SMS gateway, for instance a help desk?

And why does the client want texting for the business numbers?
Usually you'd use a short virtual number for 2-way SMS communication. What is the use case here?

Voip.ms??? Seems pretty basic but not sure what features you are looking for.

OK, but that is only a matter of who is the SMS gateway provider. If you for instance use Skyetel for the SIP trunk then you need to use Skyetel for the SMS gateway (since you want the same number).

And then you need software that interacts with the SMS gateway API so the users can handle the SMS.

For instance here is the setup for Textable to Skyetel API:
                                        https://www.textable.co/docs/skyetel-setup-guide/

The real question is what the business want to do with the texting capability. And how they are going to handle it.

This seems to be fairly flexible. 10 users is more than needed. Most of the features are more than needed. Number sharing is the big one that is needed.
