They were just "Storware" then. From vague memory it was expensive and didn't inspire confidence.

Still not inspiring confidence. Good to know our concerns are warranted.

In the pool that we are looking at, I think that the largest number of VMs is 3.

They are non-responsive as to a price but offered a demo.

Sorry but I'm not doing a 1 hr demo only to find out that the price (Unless free of course) isn't reasonable. From the disorganization so far I'm guessing it's expensive just to keep all the people who don't know anything about the product employed.

                    Wow, pricing is crazy high.

Poor service, high price... Hard pass.

It's $1,500 perpetual for up to 2 cores. I didn't ask what maint costs would be.

Not bad if you are running a few VM's but our clients are small and only have 2 VM's. @scottalanmiller says that's not too bad but at the same token compared to a script that can do it, that's a lot for just a little bit more.

@CCWTech my god. $1500. . .. yeah I'd rather use a script or a different hypervisor entirely with a free backup appliance like Veeam free or XO.

Exactly. I nearly asked them what they were smoking.

I'm assuming those cores are for the hypervisor as well. Not two socket, but two core?

                              Who would really consider that?

                                Per physical socket.

Oh okay, that at least isn't nearly as bad as it sounded.

If you had a mongo server with a ton of VM's, not bad.

They are just clearly not intended to market MSP's.

Still it's expensive when you can use any of the same tools that are agent based, or directly backup via Virt-Manager or any number of scripts.

Where is the value in this?

I don't know if they have a central management console or not. If they did, that would be handy, but really the value doesn't justify cost.

You can get a central console with XO at absolutely 0 cost, unlimited scale and any number of sockets and hosts. Literally thousands of hosts if you wanted too. . .
