A relatively new gaming clubhouse opened up run by several of my friends - they invited me out to check out Xwing being the star wars fan I am they thought I'd be interested.

Different friends have invited me to play for a few years, but I never really gave it a second look.

This time I decided, what the hell, check out the club, and well now I'm drowning in Xwing minis (that's a good thing).

      Anyone else play?

Haven't even heard of that one before. Much like Warhammer?

more or less, no painting though, the minis are pre painted. The game doesn't cost nearly as much to play, but unfortunately takes nearly as much time per game (average 90-180 mins).

Long term I'm not sure if it's really a viable game for a decade plus, but we'll see I guess.

Painting them is a lot of the fun.

No they don't. They agree with me in that we both think you are missing out in the fun.
