During my experience upgrading Windows 10 devices, I found devices which has over 100Gb just on the Windows folder (Windows 7), so, after the upgrade that is a lot of wasted space on your HDD if don´t proceed to clean it. To do that, Windows 10 has a very easy tool: Check Storage, if you want to clean unused files (included temp files), you need to proceed as follows:

      1. Go to Settings
      2. Go to System
      3. Go to Storage
      4. Click on "Configure Storage Sense or run it Now"
      5. Check temporary Files and select as your own need the options
      6. On Free up space now, check "Delete previous versions of Windows"
      7. Finally click on "Clean Now".. you need to wait some time depending on the file sizes.

In some cases I was allowed to free up to 350Gb... it was a lot of unused files in a Windows folder from Windows 7...

Hope this help you to get more space on your HDD.

Odd that when you run cleanmgr.exe, it doesn't seem to include c:\windows\temp
