Remote user is trying to copy a DB backup from a Windows share to his desktop, the file size is around 12GB.

Transfer starts properly but after around 10-12 minutes of the transfer it just suddenly gets terminated.

The router is an EdgeRouter Lite, which also handles this same DB backup from colocation back to office without apparent trouble via site to site IPSEC VPN.

Any idea how to troubleshoot this, and figure out why the transfer can't complete?

Make sure that the copy is done with robocopy. That way it can be restarted.

Trying with TeraCopy, the legend file is offline appears quite often. We need to disconnect and reconnect to the VPN so the transfer starts again.

This seems to be network related, isn't it.

Have you monitored the router's resources during the copy? Do you have some QOS that is overloading it?

              Try a different client system?

@wrx7m Yeah, CPU is around 90% while the transfer is going until the sudden disconnection.

Whats strange is we move this same files each morning from colocation to to the file server without any trouble.

@Romo I wonder what the CPU utilization is for the morning transfers.

@wrx7m Probably a lot less since during that time nothing else would be running. While currently the whole office was working regularly.

Can you manually run the morning job to see what happens?
