And, surprisingly, I found a pretty good pizza place about 10 minutes from me. Corner of Frankford and Josey I think. Place is called Joe's. Looks like real Italians work there. It was quite good.

Joe's is where we always ordered takeout. They make a great eggplant parm sub.

On my dad's farm, apple, pear and cherry trees are wild and common. On my grandfather's farm there is an orchard, mostly apple.

They are probably the most common fruit tree in this region. They are everywhere. New York and Washington (State) are famous for their apples.

@scottalanmiller I think those fruits here are rare.

I've never purchased a fresh mango and liked it, however, when I have mangoes out at a restaurant, I always like them, so I think that my problem is mainly, I don't know how to pick a good mango.

Being from the Northeast United States, it is hard to imagine a place without ready access to apples.

Maybe it is that restaurants are really good at picking them and none of the good ones are ever left.

@Joyfano None of the ones I've chosen have been ripe. They were hard most of the way through.

The stinking kids always stole them out of our trees, so I have never seen a ripe one on a tree, though they grew in the front yard.
