A while back I posted asking for what you guys use to create tutorial videos. What I am looking for is making a video or powerpoint to go step by step through the processes of password change in OWA, logging into our Teaching Website, setting up printers, and accessing/updating our alerting system info.

I like it when I see a tutorial zoom in to certain spots on the website but am not sure how to do it. I know, a tech who doesn't know how to create tutorials this way, What do I do for a living?

That is a function of the screen recording software. Just research the features until you find one that does what you want. I do not know any as I do not do this.

I'm not sure it capture audio inputs while screen recording.

VLC Media Player has a basic screen recording feature.

Camtasia would be my first choice.

OBS works well, but what the OP is asking for is a video editing function. The recording software doesn't / can't do this soft of thing on the fly.

I'm sure there are some free and open source options to edit video. I'm just drawing a blank atm.

I found this one when searching - Not sure if it is exactly what you are looking for:
                        https://www.appcues.com/

                        As well as-https://www.flashbackrecorder.com/

I have also seen this one popup on FB-

Actually, yes, some presentation creation software does this. I used it a while back, but not sure what it was called. It was someone else showing me how it worked.

I am using movavi suite for my videos (an 0365 administration training videos in progress) which has similar functions requested by op. You can zoom in to specific areas and such

                              https://www.movavi.com/suite/

I think they have the individual screen recorder as well but i got the video suite
