With my daughters being 4 & 6 as well as being raised on touch interfaces devices, I can easily see them enjoying this.
Change using the paper to a cheap white board and you got a really easy method for endless physics lessons with that ball dropping app. I loved the Fantastic Contraption Flash game years ago.

They are doing some great new stuff for kids. This and Kano and other small tech education stuff. Not to mention Arduino.
