Microsoft DNS and LOC records

Is it possible to create LOC records in Microsoft's DNS? I can seem to find anything on the web about it, other than a reference to a MS dev article that seems to imply that it should be supported.
My DNS is handled by our domain controllers that are running Server 2012R2 if that makes a difference.

According to this non MS article, they aren't supported.
