      @bnrstnr Agreed. Or a forum regular that created a new account because they didn't want to be associated with Meraki.

          Don't bother making accounts to hide anything. I ask stupid questions every day but I do learn each time.

            I believe the Unfi AP-AC-PROs are the most competitive with this access point. You can get the old dual-radio model (similar specs to the APs you are running) for ~$150. The new 3x3 model runs quite a bit more then that.

              An ER-L would blow the MX100 out of the water for significantly less money.

                  I had two free Meraki AP's I won at a job a few years ago. I put them in and used them for a bit but replaced them shortly after.

                    @coliver thanks.

                    @everyone-else it's for political reasons.

                        3x3 model?

                          The 3x3 model of the Unifi AC Pros is 500-600$ depending on source. I believe that was the price we paid for the Meraki APs when I was supporting those at a different job. They were much more expensive when you consider the additional support costs.

                              Nevermind I'm a bit behind on the Unifi product line apparently.

                              https://unifi-hd.ubnt.com/ These are available on Amazon for 300$.

                              https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-UAP-AC-HD-Unifi-Access-Point/dp/B01N15FSAG/

                              So half the cost of the Meraki APs and zero support costs. You could buy double the amount, house the spares and still save over the Meraki solution.

                                I see them for $128 each. . . which is completely reasonable.

                                  The AC-HD's use MU-MINO so way faster, a bit more expensive, what would be the comparable for Meraki?

                                    That's the old 2x2 model. The new AP-AC-PRO is faster and has 3 antennas.

                                      $349 for 4 antennas is an awesome price point too

                                        The MR52 looks like it is the closest competitor. I believe, but don't quote me, that the hardware cost for those is upwards of $1,000 to $1,500, not including support. That may be MSRP though.

                                          Almost $1300 for the MR52 from amazon.

                                          Which means I could get 4 AP's of Ubiquiti for the cost of a single AP from Meraki! Meraki license appears to be included.
