With so many people using and exploring Linux on the desktop, it seems like a great chance to take a look at Linux desktop applications. Newcomers to Linux are often at a loss to know where to look for good tools for their needs. So I am going to start putting together a collection of application information to make it easier for people to discover and explore the world of Linux desktops.

Linux Desktop Applications:
Kwrite isn't bad. Not as good as Atom or Sublime.

Ah my bad I thought this was just text editors also.

Visual Studio Code is pretty good. I'm always jumping between Atom and Visual Studio Code.

I have both installed. I like that VSC has a repo installer.

Shutter for screenshots.

I use Inkscape a decent amount. I mostly use Chrome, Atom, Shutter, and Telegram.

LibreOffice works well for Word and excel provessing.

I do usually install Pithos also.
One other application I use infrequently is Planner. It's a simple PM application that does Gantt charts.
