@triple9 we're working on Asterisk 13 and Freepbx 14. They are going to be available by the summer

A full integration so that the system can be used as a complete PBX? Or just for faxing?

        as stated on referenced URL:

*We are working very proudly to have Asterisk 13 and FreePBX 14 on NethServer 7!

They are useful to turn your NethServer 7 into a phone switchboard!*

They are, but they can be used for a lot of other things, too. We run FreePBX in many places, but it can be used for just faxing or all kinds of things.

@scottalanmiller I need to point out It's not just a hope, we already have that as enterprise product with two thousand installations. We need just to work on it, upgrade to the last version and release for the community

This would be a really good product to do a AMA.

Is this basically meant to be a replacement for Windows Server Essentials (SBS)?

@IRJ That's one of our goals but you should bear in mind that NethServer is also a powerful UTM firewall (proxy http + content filter) and as you mentioned a personal cloud thanks to NextCloud.
I know that our main site isn't so detailed, I'm currently working on that

Installed it in a VM. It has a valid IP address, but I can't access the web interface?

Works fine here. Port 980, SSL.

Fourth menu item down on the main menu. Open up "domain accounts" and it has you set up the domain.

@scottalanmiller On the public demo the 4th option doesn't show the advanced functionality.

And it appears to only be for joining a domain, not creating one.

not following any of the links, just read the thread, but this sounds like what ClearOS tried to do.

I am not a fan of magic all in one boxes in general. But once you need to build up something to replace a Windows DC, that thing generally has all these components.

I would leave the PBX off, though I do like the sounds of a full faxing solution because that is not easily possible in FreePBX.

You're not obligated to put all those stuff in "one magic box" bear in mind that @nethserver is extremely modular so you can just install one of our modules on each server that you sets up

NethServer already uses Hylafax for a full faxing solution supporting IAX virtual modems and "real" fax modems

Well ClearOS crashed hard after version 5.2 years ago. So if you have something solid, I will certainly pay attention to it.

well, that sounds even better I'll test NethServer in my lab sooner than expected.

I can't wait to know what the outcome of that will be.
