So a friend of mine got an iPad for free secondhand and he wiped it. He is trying to login to it, but it's prompting for the old user's login before it will allow it. Is there any way around this? Has anyone encountered this before?

      Thanks,
      A.J.

Original user did not remove Find my iPhone first. Systemis useless until owner fixes it.

Contact the owner since he got it secondhand?

I guess it'd be more like thirdhand? No way to contact the original owner.

I believe you're SOL at that point.

Ok, thanks everyone. This is what I thought too, and this confirms it. 🙂

I would just get rid of the device. Selling it for parts could possibly get him in trouble if the 2nd owner came up with it in a shady way.

Yeah, I don't know all the details. I was just asking. I agree it sounds shady but I honestly don't know what the details are.
