Firmware Update Warning on SuperMicro from FreeNAS

Anyone seen this one? Doesn't look like the BIOS. Any guess what controller is the issue? SATA controller, perhaps? This is an error message from inside of FreeNAS.
WARNING: Firmware version 17 does not match driver version 21 for /dev/mps0. Please flash controller to P21 IT firmware.

The answer comes pretty quickly.... it's a bug in FreeNAS. A pretty big one that hasn't been fixed. Just absolute sloppiness on the part of FreeNAS and very poor handling of getting it fixed. It's a nonsense alert that means nothing. Just needs to be ignored.

Why are you using FreeNAS? Every conversation ever with someone asking should I use FreeNAS or something else for my storage device, @scottalanmiller has always had the same answer. Use CentOS, or purchase a Synology.
So where did this come up that you are on a FreeNAS box?

Yeah I asked him the same - I think the better answer would have been - I'm not, a crazy customer is, and that's who pays me/us.
