Promptly brought down the new Exchange 2013 server last night because I neglected to account for the massive amount of logging when mailboxes as being migrated. I had spec'd a 30GB mounted drive for the log to go along with the 300GB mounted drive for the first DB file.

        Oops.

Expanded the drive to 40GB, rebooted, and the new DB stayed mounted this time.

A bit later the 12pm Veeam backup job came through and it all poofed.

So back to queueing up more mailboxes.

Latest migration batch just finished. Back to 20GB of logs.

Veeam runs again at 4pm (now), so I think I will wait for that before starting the next batch of users.

Well the VM drive has lots of space, but I ran out of space on the host..

I was worried about this. Makes me glad I dropped in 4 old drives I had left over from elsewhere as a second RAID10.

Just need to move the old SBS VM over on to drive E before this next batch fires off.

Then I will be needing a conversation with the client tomorrow about new drives of their own.

Exchange server migration from 2007 (SBS 2008) to 2013 complete.

Time to go to bed and see what I missed when the phone rings in the morning.

I don't envy you. I've never had to deal with Exchange and hope I never do.

Where in PA are you going again?

                          Indiana PA.

Maybe they normally have to launch him from a catapult to have something to chase after?

Getting ready for the AMA with Fluke today. And the usual Monday morning after a long weekend (lots of people didn't work on Friday) craziness.

Lots of people not working today, either. It's a semi-common holiday. I've talked to lots of people that have today off.
