Eh, after a long day at work the last thing I generally want to do is spend more time around people... not to sound like a dick but being around people is more exhausting then the actual work.

Fully agree, but it's an investment of your time. These things are not really parties as much as they are social engineering opportunities for the advancement of your career.

For someone who works from home I LOVE social things to do with people (no @art_of_shred and @Mike-Ralston don't always count). But I am super social.
Social situations are where you do solidify career advancement.

I do wear contacts, but sometimes they fall out, hurt, tear, whatever. And I literally can't see more than 4 inches in front of me.
So I am super paranoid about having spare contacts as well as my glasses.

Super bright and sunny here today. On the ocean we have the sun coming in directly AND reflecting off of the water. It's blinding even on the far side of the house.
