I would really need to see this myself to believe it. Even with mineral oil you need some kind of heat spreader. I can see this working no problem with a modest hunk of copper on the CPU but bare? Yikes.

They show them working with no spreaders on the video. Mineral oil doesn't cool anything like a two phase. It's not "even with mineral oil", because it's among the bad options. It moves heat well, but moves physically very slowly. The two phase moves heat SO quickly.

Anyway, you couldn't really do any serious applications with gwbasic. It was followed by qbasic a little later.

I was in time to get to do both. Still have the original GWBASIC manuals!

I just did a little with both. But this was around the same time that Borland released Turbo Pascal and at least in my view it became the serious language to make PC applications with in that era. It was almost instant compilation and it had a very good IDE.

The fake office in a verified business with the intent of approaching them... I am lost for words on how messed up that is to lure people in as part of the key deliverables & company resume.

Shows how much the clients will potentially pay if the recruiters "own" all viable candidates!

Fake job postings are sometimes pretty hard to spot. But there are a lot of signs that can help us identify common fake jobs.

The truth about this had me gut rolling in the car the other day. Great video.

That's a hard aspect of it, there is almost always overlap. Not always, but especially in the SMB there is often quite a bit. Any SMB IT Pro will have to buy regularly. Many buyers do IT work on smaller scales so as not to have to go through the process of buying something simple.

Yeah, I am an IT pro that has to buy.

At some point, all pros have to buy sometimes. Heck even General Motors buys some of their parts from the outside!

Unfortunately, sometimes the best answer/decision today becomes a bad decision tomorrow.

Then it clearly wasn't the best decision at the time.

If you are evaluating a system today, and it does everything you could ever need and then some. It cost a nominal amount of money to implement compared to the competition and you go with that solution.

That isn't a bad decision.

In 3 years there could be a way better system that exist and costs even less and offers more. But you needed a system 3 years ago not 3 years in the future.

You picked the best solution for the organization that was available at the time.

"At the time" is the key phrase. A boss could say, "Why didn't you look to the future and only see the present? You wasted my money because you didn't look out far enough" That then makes it a bad decision even though it could have been the best smart logical decision ever.

I'm not saying its right, just that the boss could say it.

I am in agreement that we do our best to make the best decision based on info we have at the time. That still opens the door to a previously best decision becoming a bad decision.

That's just the boss making a different bad decision now 🙂
