Now to make our first organization, we will make a test one to get started.

      chef-server-ctl org-create SHORTNAME LONGNAME --association_user USERNAME -f filename

That's the format, here is a real command:

      chef-server-ctl org-create test "Chef Testing NonProd" --association_user scott -f scott.pem

If this is CentOS you need to either turn off SELinux (probably best here) or reset the permissions again.

That Facebook is using HHVM in production makes me a little more comfortable with it.

True, but I would guess that Facebook's application runs mostly on code that Facebook is responsible for maintaining. On the other hand, most WordPress websites have at least a couple of third party plugins and/or themes and those usually assume you're running on PHP 5 so there's a higher chance of stuff like this happening.

Probably wouldn't be an issue very often but I would be more paranoid about updates breaking things if I were running HHVM in production.

      Found it.
      First run the iptables entry
      iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.8.0.0/24 -j SNAT --to xxx.xx.xx.xx

Then run sudo apt-get install iptables-persistent, and follow the prompts. When it asks to save the current rules, hit "Yes" at both prompts. Now, on reboots, your iptables rules will be restored.
      All done, working fine! 🙂

It looks like it is trying to connect but it gives me two choices for a SSL cert when I do... then it give me an error. I will have to look into a bit more when I have time.

I'm not necessarily opposed to using 15.04, I've just always stuck with the LTS releases for deployment.

I'm the opposite. Due to stability and patch issues, I would never use LTS for production (only in a lab) except for the time when the LTS release is also the current release. Remember LTS is only a name and does not imply any additional support. Staying on old, out of date, unsupported OS versions is especially bad in production.

Seriously. Or, what I really want, is when can everyone else get a self driving car!!

Car accidents will drop. In fact the other day I was thinking about how sometime in the not-too-distant future, people who drive themselves will be considered reckless, like driving with a cellphone or bottle of whisky in your hand, as they'll cause most accidents.

This is probably true... I would still prefer to drive myself but I feel the cost of insurance on a vehicle of the manual nature will be extraordinary.

I like the idea of driving myself but it is worth giving that up to stop everyone else from driving themselves. But, as much as I like driving, getting to read a book, post to ML and drink wine while traveling in my car are worth a LOT to me.

I spend about an hour in the car each day... if I could turn that time into something resembling productive (even playing a video game) I would give up driving.

I think most video games will be tough just because of the unavoidable car motion.

I was thinking 3DS or something similar... even an emulator on the phone is very nice to have on long trips.

OMG, talk abut car sickness. Wow.

Hmmm, I get car sick when reading a book in the car... not when playing games.
