I've never used Branch Office Direct Printing, frankly I'm not sure what the gain is over what I'm doing today?

You can try disabling WSD on the printer itself, if it isn't a service for Windows to see perhaps it wont try to use it.

This is the same thing we do to avoid this nasty printer plague 😄

@IRJ that sums things up. We've not advanced past Okidata.

Gah, stop with the painful (yet colorful) memories!

And... you'd need a database to track the databases!

Actually, as I think about it, separating databases really just becomes semantics. As long as it is a single application, separating the databases adds overhead (mostly for the developers) but in reality, it is always still all one datastore. One way or another, the application has to behave essentially the same no matter which way you do it.

The one advantage to having them separate is that you can have different "versions" for different customers. But I'm not sure that that is a good thing.

why not just look at a Toshiba mfp, or any color mfp for that fact? Every single one of my Toshiba mfp's 4540 (color) or 356 (b&w) do 11x17 native. No changes and can be used for every day printing, therefore eliminating the specialty. The Toshiba units that I purchased are $7000 but last a million or more prints with proper maintenance.

@Dashrender logged in as the administrator there were no printers. I added and deleted the printer from there multiple times.
