      I think that you have the wrong tool for the job. Others are correct, you just want a normal KVM install. Qubes is the wrong tool here.

      I guess I don't know why large distributions are using Systemd if it is pretty much universally reviled by the community.

      Gnome requires it going forward.

      My understanding was that just as many of the vulnerabilities came from the fact that Microsoft released their source to China in order to get into their market in the first place. I forget where I heard that but I could be wrong.

      I don't remember what doesn't support it, but that's true, from what I was told and what I have experienced. I can't speak for the KB article. Which article ID?

      Did you remember to do....

      apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && reboot

      Before trying the distro update?

      Apt-get upgrade didn't find the update, and I have run apt-get update. It's not seeing it for some reason...

      I gave up, at least for the moment, and just went with the production Rails 4.1.6 version which went in without a problem.

      I don't see much hope other than starting over in a case like this. It's more or less the same as doing the infamous rm -rf / except far better because at least you can take a final backup and recover, file by file, anything specific that you need.

      I am still waiting for the dev to give me more info on the type of request/data transfer happens between the tab and server. If it's just a Web service request then my life is easier, webserver with ssl and am done. Initial info is that it's a Web service.

      Coming from Apache, I would assume so.

      CoreOS could threaten Linux potentially. Not completely threatened (especially as it "is" Linux) but it could very much change the face of the Linux ecosystem and reduce the number of traditional deployments.
