I think you are confusing Mariadb with MaraDNS there haha.

Yeah, all my experience has been with Windows DHCP, and you're right, configuring the DNS suffix and other options are easy as pie. On the pfSense/Linux side it's a bit...different...!

I don't have much experience with pfsense. I've played with it a little but never actually set it up and used it. YMMV

Also, @PSX_Defector , this is my test box. They let you pick whatever OS you want to run on here and run it, be it Windows or any flavor of Linux. They don't put any blocks on it. I just use Google for DNS because it's faster and more stable as a rule.

Thanks guys for all the help! I'm going to fix this...except I somehow lost access to the vSphere lab...I opened a helpdesk request but likely it'll be tomorrow before I can get access again. The helpdesk here, internally, is not particularly quick...

Sure we do. NTG has 2 datacenter locations, with DCs in each. IT-ADMIN only has 1 datacenter location, so putting a DC at the remote site would be a good idea. If he/she had another datacenter location, it would be less of a concern.

      he not she, hhhh
thanks for your suggestion, i know that the best idea is to have an additional DC in the remote location, i will try another machine and promote it in the branch office, i will not give up, because i doubt the previous ADC has something wrong in its system, if it doesn't work i will try RODC

DNS used to take 48 hours. Now it takes more like 4. But it is not your DNS provider that determines that, so be cautious.
