August 27, 2015 Outage

Well we have no idea what happened with the outage yesterday. The site appears to have slowed and gone offline during the afternoon while I was stuck in Panamá with literally zero Internet access. We just happened to be hit with some bug in the site code (it would seem) on the same day that they accidentally lost all Internet here for the day. Bad timing.
My Internet came back up early this morning and I found ML down immediately. A quick reboot got us right back up. We took an optional additional few minutes to also do the update from 0.7.2 to 0.7.3 and, during the night last night 0.8.0 was dropped, and so we want right ahead to the very latest code series.
So as of this morning we are looking good and running on the very latest and greatest code base.
Sorry for the downtime yesterday.

That must be why the menu on my windows phone shows up now. When I clicked the hamburger menu I just saw white space before.

That would explain why I was getting a 504 error this morning, which started to change after a refresh a few minutes later.
Well glad it at least resulted in something beneficial.

So far the site feels much faster, but that might be more to do with my local Internet than anything else.

There were/are some major issues with Level 3 in the midwest. It seems to be affecting a lot of folks. I haven't had any problem here on the East coast... or so it would seem.

Site had crashed. It came back up with a simple reboot.

@scottalanmiller Gotcha. Although the Level 3 issue may also be why you lost internet for a bit. 8-)

That's quite possible as they provide Internet here in Panama.

I can't say it was up at midnight,.. though I was. But it seemed to be running between 4 and 9pm, at least looking at my last posts.

Oh, maybe it wasn't until later than I thought. I did not look at the alerts too closely, was busy getting it back up once I had access and saw that it was down.
