Never really followed football. Even though I work for one of the NFLs suppliers.

Not a fan of any sport enough to play fantasy leagues.
I enjoy watching baseball and hockey occasionally. I dislike basketball and football.

I don't follow football and don't even know how fantasy sports work. Seen people play them a ton but no clue what it is.

I think it involves dice rolling and player sheets with specific attributes. Or I might be thinking of something else.

Basically, yes. I have no idea how they "play", maybe base it on the real games that week or something, no idea..

I assume that that is likely true. No idea if it is based on teams, people, stats or what. And no idea how you play it. Do you have pretend games and somehow the real games replace the die rolls?

The only thing I know about fantasy football is from the show The League... which while centered around a fantasy football league doesn't really go into depth on how it actually works.
