Windows 10 Has Released
-
Microsoft's latest desktop operating system Windows 10 has hit RTM (Release to Manufacturing) today. That means, in Microsoft terminology, that Windows 10 has released. This is the version that has already gone to the vendors for them to begin deploying with their latest products. This is no longer a beta or a technology preview or a release candidate, it has been released. Windows 10 is now out. InfoWorld reports on the release.

I installed it on my Surface Pro 3, wife's Surface Pro 3, Dell Venue 8 Pro and my work PC. It has removed the watermark and it also no longer called technical preview. It has always been stable for me though the "Microsoft Core" apps are still quirky, especially Mail and Photos.

How Did you get the RTM version so quickly?

This isn't officially marked as...RTM 10240 that is...
-
Yeah - there are guesses that the real RTM will be 10240 with required updates. The updates are still being made as we type this. It's possible they will make new 'required RTM updates' up to July 28.
-
I also downloaded 10240 last night. MS started pushing it out yesterday morning before the 'RTM' announcement.
-
Time to update I guess.
-
I suspect @Dominica will be updating this weekend.

I am normally one who likes to look "forward" in technology...but my main home server may remain on Windows 8.1 for now because of one thing...WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER and let me tell you why and it is for such a simple reason. We have tons of digital photos...tons. And the best way to enjoy them is in a slideshow with music, both shuffling and random. Windows Media Center via the XBOX 360 extender does a killer job on this and nothing has come close. On the XBOX One, the OneDrive app does shuffle pictures but the algorithm is horrible and it is the same "shuffle" each time or close to it...I can PIN the music app next to it but it is a poor replacement for MEDIA CENTER. I suppose I could run a virtual 8.1 and Media Center but pretty soon, I hope to retire my 360 and be just one XBOX One. Waiting for the compatibility with 360 games to gain ground AND for one single Kinect game to work or be ported...Kinect Party...kids love that game and it is always a hit at party's....

I have 12K. How about you?
I'll check tonight! :)...

I'm guessing that I will be at 13K in a month since I am about to travel to a new country and that always creates a flurry of picture taking.

I don't know if it was because I just had to many to bother sorting, or I got bored, but about a year after I got my Canon DLSR (almost 10 years ago now) I stopped taking pictures.
During that year I easily took over 3000 pictures, granted many were of the same thing.

I find all of the pictures that I take of the inside of the case are blurry

lol maybe you should stop taking pictures of the inside of your case.

Are you showing off that you can take pictures of your monitor?
-
LOl - no, I was showing off that 10240 is in fact out - not that you didn't believe when I posted it.. I was just showing it off just to show it off.
-
You could use a traditional screenshot mechanism for that
