In a move to protect their users from major security gaps in Flash, Mozilla's Firefox has blocked the much maligned plugin. Facebook has told Adobe that they must kill the Flash product once and for all. Reported by CNN.

Engadget refers to Flash as the Justin Bieber of plugins.

              Good - Maybe it'll work.

However, there seems to be a number of sites that require it in order to function 'correctly'

Any good ones? I actually love not having it because it makes it super simple to filter all kinds of crap from the level of an ad to the level of an entire site. If someone thinks that their own content is that worthless, I sure don't want to waste my time on it.

They replaced it in the UEB Free already.

Hopefully they push it to their older versions as well.

HP switches still require Java 😞

Java is unrelated to Flash though. HP still requires Java for ILO too 😞

We have a lot of stuff that requires either flash, java or silverlight. Anything we develop in house is a native windows app or a silverlight web app.

I know, I was just pointing out that many things still require bug riddled extensions putting us at risk.

Most of those things, like Java for an HP ILO, can be isolated to networks that are not on the Internet or are highly protected. They don't need to be on general use machines.
