When was it $1.07? for a period in Feb and April? according the to chart Matt linked to.

I was getting $1.07 at the ATMs in Spain while I was there. So March - June. Not every time, it moves around.

@Dashrender aw just come up to Canada friend! You'll get an effective 20% discount on everything instead of paying more for euros. We're also much more friendly and if you ask nicely we'll tell you where to find poutine and craft beer in herculean quantity.

Except the starting price on everything is so much more. Go ahead... what's the price of a Dell or HP server there? How much is an XBOX One? Everything is jacked up prices, the discount is misleading.

LOL - yeah, I've been to Canada. While some folks are nice, those in Montreal where some of the rudest other than France (Paris specifically).

Did you explain that you were an American? I've found Montreal to be very warm and welcoming as long as they knew you were not from Ontario.

Really? I've heard they hate anyone who doesn't speak French... oh well - We were only in the city for one day, I think 3 total meals before heading back to the states.

I've only heard it from people who failed to understand why they were upset and didn't realize that they needed to tell where they were from. Because there is a strong animosity between Montreal and Toronto and almost all English speaking people in Montreal are from Ontario.

Also, as with all foreign places, taking the time to say a few words in the local language goes a long way too.

Two men, one from Ontario and one from Quebec, were in a cave when they came across a magic lamp.
While they were fighting over whom the lamp belonged to, a genie popped out.
The genie said, β€œI shall grant each of you one wish and only one, so make it good.”
The Quebecois spoke first, β€œI want you to build a one hundred-foot high wall around the border of Quebec. This will ensure that the English culture does not corrode our superior heritage.”
The genie nodded, β€œdone,” he then turned to the Ontarian. β€œAnd your wish?”
                      β€œFill it with water.”

No need to annex it, everyone is going to be able to just buy it!

Well, in that case. I start the bidding at $10!

Greece opts for another day without a proposal! European stocks rising as the EU starts taking a hard line on Greece.

China taking a beating so heavy that they have mostly shut down the market.

It is here. We have a large Greek population in Melbourne.
So big in fact, that some of the signs are actually in Greek (well wen I was there last... a decade or so ago)

I'm not talking about the Greece news, I'm talking about the China news! That makes Greece look like a walk in the park!

Greece's economy is said to be roughly the equivalent of Miami Florida. While no means a small city, it's tiny in the grand scheme of things.

China is the world's second largest economy (again according to an article I just read). If it slumps, the whole world will feel it hugely!

@Dashrender Yeah, that's been in the news a bit but not nearly as much as it should be. A lot of our iron ore goes there.

What news have you been reading? It's not just the headline, it's the top five headlines on CNN. It's the top item on BBC. It's the top on Al Jazeera. The two top world news agencies and America's largest all have it dominating the news and have for weeks.
