I find it most interesting that Walmart finds it valuable nought to offer services for printing.

3D printing could be seen as a huge blow to industry and actually one of the biggest wins for cottage industries.

Wal-Mart is more cutting edge than you would think when it comes to using technology. Did you know that they were one of the first retailers to embrace IT and computer systems as part of their logistics system back in 1975?

I was happy to see them embrace converting DVDs and Blurays into digital format with VUDU.

Even happier to see you can do it yourself now at home.

Hold on a minute. So if you were to get a plastic 3d printer and a metal 3d printer, in theory you could print most of the mechanical replacement parts you'd ever need for the two machines.

Correct. If you owned a custom plastic fab and a custom metal fab you could make most anything.
