Rack LCD Console with Digital KVM
-
Does anyone know who makes a rack LCD console with an integrated digital KVM? with 8 or 16 ports?
Finding many with integrated analog KVM but not digital. APC used to have one, but it was discontinued and not replaced.
Rack space is extremely limited, thus why I am looking for an integrated unit versus two pieces of gear.

@ElecEng
We use this as the console:
IOGEAR GCL1800 17" LCD Console with an HDMI to vga adapterAnd this as the switch:
Tripplite 16-Port HDMI/USB KVM Switch with Audio/Video and USB Peripheral Sharing, 1U Rack-Mount
Part Number: B024-HU16We mount the console on the front of the cabinet, and the switch at the back; using the same 1U space. We use keyboard shortcuts to switch between servers. Occasionally (rarely) we have to go to the back and press a button on the switch.

Am I missing something? Is the title misleading?

They call it Digital because it is a digital signal between the Console and the SIP, and also because you can access it via a web interface or over TCPIP.
This unit only works with the SIP that has VGA. So it requires VGA at the server and the KVM only has an output of VGA.
If you were to use the Vertiv Avocent MergePoint Unity KVM, then you could get HDMI SIPs (P/N: MPUIQ-VMCHD) and have HDMI at the server, but you would still need a VGA display attached to the KVM Console.

@JasGot Interesting.
Other than the custom systems we build on ASRock Rack and TYAN boards that have HDMI and/or DisplayPort all of the server platforms we deploy have one graphics output and that's VGA.
SIP = Server endpoint?
