<Marlin Brando voice> WIndows 10 will be finished </Marlin Brando voice> in June... apparently.
Well, I reckon it'll be officially released in September

Bonus: Got any jokes, memes and/or puns about Windows being "Finished"?

It is really close to polished now. June is not that unreasonable.

It does seem fast, but considering the builds that are already out, short of something really bad being found I think they can do it.

We've been running on it here for months now. It's pretty slick even in a half year old version!

Ditto here...the version seems to be pretty stable.

I know it wasn't ready for prime time on my Surface Pro 3 (the January build) but it seemed right on track for June...

It does look pretty good from the small amount of time that I've played with it.
I hope it gets a better reception than Vista and 8.

I hope they produce videos on how to do things that changed. This is the single biggest complaint I hear from non techies - they have no idea how to add a printer, join a wireless network, etc in windows 8 - it doesn't work like windows 7 or XP so they simply freeze. non technical individuals don't have a sense of adventure when it comes to computers, they don't want to figure it out, they want it to 'just work'.

Someone will produce videos like that. They always do.

Yes, but it would be better for Microsoft if THEY did it and controlled the flow of information.

Just out of curiosity how does the licensing work? I have 1 Windows laptop left that I wouldn't mind using to try it out. It came out of the box with Windows 7, updated it to 8.1, wouldn't mind trying 10. If I have to reinstall 8, it is kinda a pain to get start from scratch. So, in short, if I download the 10 trial, can I just roll that into the final release without having to format and reinstall an older version of Windows first?

It's rare that they allow betas to roll into final releases.

That is what I kind of figured. I just didn't know if anyone had heard otherwise.

I would not be surprised if things did not change with this release as they are treating it so differently in so many different ways.

In ref to the OP, I did find describing Windows 10 as "finished" in June to be fairly ominous. Like "sleeping with the fishes" ominous. Perhaps we have the same sense of humor?

I've been enjoying the technical preview for a while now. Seems like its ready to go.

It really does feel polished already. I just built another laptop with it just two days ago. Best install process yet for Windows.

I am loving Windows 10. I was having trouble getting the Pro version of 8.1 to install on my Lenovo laptop, but the tech preview of 10 worked without issue.
