So the house has ALREADY booked SEVEN showings for the first day, and two already set up for tomorrow!! We only got it listed partway through the day and SEVEN showings in the same day!!

That's how things have been around here as well. Some friends of mine want to move, but can't get a place because every single house is under contract the same day it's listed.

      Yeah, Dallas is madness.

Just googled Stalink and lo and behold, they reckon it's available where I'm at!

Available second half 2021 they say.

They're still rolling and sorting out our national broadband plan, Musky's gone and thrown some satellites up and it's already available in the southern hemisphere.

        $AU139.00/month

@scottalanmiller looking at the Starlink web site, not alot of info.
Am I correct in thinking that you can have a simple self setup transceiver that is ground mounted?

Does anyone know if that is portable to the degree where you could throw it in your car, and set it up out in the middle of nowhere?

Not yet, but will be able to pretty soon. They have a truck and boat mounted version coming.

We settled on the house we have now due to finances and timing (limited time to buy or renew prior lease, etc.).

                    Similar reason for me too.

I would imagine you can as you just point the dish up (yeah in the right direction etc)
I think I saw something saying they were looking at working with the military to install on ships and other vehicles

Looking at adding one of these to the home network
                                https://store.amplifi.com/products/amplifi-meshpoint-hd

House mate is complaining about dead zones in the basement (where he is living currently) and even suggested I let him get his own internet into the house or let him pay for the internet.

I never drop connection in the basement , but apparently his game not working (Apex Legends) is because of my Internet...

yeah, not what I would do - I'd run him a hard wire, and make him buy his own switch if he needs more than one connection.

Or run a hardwire to the basement and put in a second AP.

Do you have possible paths to run Ethernet for him? If so it wouldn't be a bad thing to run the cable, as you could probably use it after he moves out when it doesn't fix the issue.

Look for a solution for a building to building wireless link. Only around 50m or less.
