Nextcloud - how to restore many deleted files
-
@JasGot It's free (FOSS). We are just paying for hosting it.

but we switched to it due to pricing advantage.

@JasGot Are you trying to say something I don't get or what?

It's a free product with paid support available that you are not using. Keep your demands and expectations in check. You'll experience less stress.

We already had few serious issues with it (bugs with mainstream Intel GPU never solved etc.)
WTF

"Basic" paid official support would cost us more then Dropbox, and it still would not solve this problem with missing feature.
I don't think that being FOSS is excuse for missing this feature. -

WTF
We had issue with Windows client not working on Intel UHD620 GPU. Bug was reported in 11/2018 on Github, and was marked as "Closed" with comment "this is clearly something deep in Qt or the drivers, nothing much we can do about it. Closing it at last." after 2 years

Does anyone here offers support for Nextcloud or some kind of managed Nextcloud servers?
(yesterday we solved this problem manually so I am asking for future, not for this problem specifically) -

(yesterday we solved this problem manually so I am asking for future, not for this problem specifically)Are you looking for someone who can offer support that includes a Bulk Recovery option?

How is NC interacting with the GPU at all? That's very strange. You have this in a VM, right?

I don't believe there is a mass restore function. You'll likely need to do something like this through the cli.
Google doesn't have that, either. We had customers learn that the hard way!

@DustinB3403 Thank you.
I must say that I am a bit disappointed with Nextcloud. This should be normal feature.
We already had few serious issues with it (bugs with mainstream Intel GPU never solved etc.) but we switched to it due to pricing advantage.
However, I can't say it is as reliable as Dropbox, so far.What does Nextcloud cost?
Totally free. We run it here, too.

Who HAS this feature? The biggest player on the market doesn't have it.
You can always restore from backup as a means to something like this. I think that that is the intended way back. That's something that big closed source players lack.

(yesterday we solved this problem manually so I am asking for future, not for this problem specifically)Yup, NTG definitely does that. We've been supporting NextCloud for a long time. I'm sure Bundy does as well.

@scottalanmiller I'm pretty sure Dropbox, MS etc all have a "select all and recover" type option.
I'd have to look again but I'm pretty sure this is a feature.

MS does not. We had MS lose data and they have no recovery mechanism at all. DropBox might.

That is what the OP said.

Dropbox have tool to "Rollback" to certain point in time,

From ShartPoint they definitely have a trashbin function. I'm not aware of any such feature for other products from MS.

SharePoint is a wiki, not a competitor for cloud storage. Microsoft's cloud storage product is OneDrive.
-
@scottalanmiller You missed it.
Shart Point (purposely misspelled) because MS sh*t their pants at the awful product design and attempted to sell it like the greatest thing since sliced bread.
