yes, but you haven't been an Atlantic Ocean away

I've worked from Europe for extended periods before. Nothing new there. And working from Texas is like being an ocean away, it's nearly as far as the UK from NY.

Umm Yeah but I can get to TX from here, easily without flying. Visiting you in Spain is probably not going to happen.

Not sure yet, we are there for 5 days and probably going to be driving quite a bit of it. Flying into Edinburgh and venturing out from there. I've got a travel guide I need to read through still to get an idea.

You going to attempt driving there?

I really do hate to fly so not going to do it unless I really need to.

I would love that. That I might try. I have flown internationally and in the states many times and just really hate to fly (not afraid of it or anything) just hate dealing with the whole thing.

Yep, probably one of things I am looking forward to actually, going to take some getting used to for sure. We are also going to try and get a suite in a castle somewhere, the fiance is working on that. My family is also going (parents and sisters) so it will be part family vacation, part honeymoon.

I do take the train some between here and NYC. But I love to drive. So do that mostly. We driver from here to Austin every year for SpiceWorld and just TX in general usually 3 or 4 times a year total. We also do the NYC/Philly trip a few times a year. We just like the road trips. It helps that I get to work with my husband and he goes with me 99% of the time

At least there is stuff to see for most of your road trips.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of driving in the UK. The scariest place I've ever driven was Manhattan though. If I left more than a 12 inch gap between my car and the car in front, someone would try and overtake.

No, Manhattan drivers are actually very good. But people drive close, extremely fast, have little tolerance for you not knowing what you are doing and there is heavy congestion. @pchiodo loves driving NYC.

The last few times I was down there wasn't bad, drivers in NYC aren't what you see on TV generally. I drive too cautiously to drive in Manhattan, generally I go down with someone who lived there (friend was a NYCPD Officer for several years). 90% of the time though you generally walk or take a subway.

Well, some people like that sort of stuff. I'm not really into the congested life style that is offered by the city

I've driven Manhattan and I would take that over Washington, D.C., Boston or Pittsburgh any day. I've lived in two of those and drove there all of the time and it was terrifying. I drive Brooklyn and Queens and the Bronx (all NYC) regularly and while traffic is annoying it isn't scary at all.

Let me warn you, nothing in Manhattan or anywhere in the US will prepare you for the high speed, crazy European driving. Italy was effing crazy! Tight roads, steep roads, cliffs, no rails, full speed roundabouts and zippers and traffic control is just a suggestion. It works but you have to be brave, confident and totally in control.

Manhattan was nothing for driving. You should really make sure you KNOW where you are going before heading out there. Don't just rely on a GPS to get you where you need to go. After living in Republic of Congo for a year. There is nothing that really scares me now 😛
