If we are approaching size issues with the PCI, why don't we just put in more PCI Express slots instead?

There's only so much PCI Express bandwidth available. But really, for consumers why would you need more?

Business class stuff is working it's own solutions for these things, so it's much less of an issue - and generally becomes specialized/specific builds per customer.

@Dashrender that makes sense. The video kind of led me to believe it was more of an issue than it actually is I guess.

Much harder than it seems, and very expensive. PCI is a bus, so more slots means more cards, but less bandwidth for each.

Adding more cards is not really a thing anymore. Other than gaming machines - what was the last card you installed into a typical desktop computer?

For me it was a video card about 4 years ago to allow for dual monitors. A single card, there was at least two more slots open.

Yeah, it's good to know in theory, but in the real world, other than maybe adding a graphics card, this is no longer a thing.

I sawn in this video that it talked about 32 bit and 64 bit connections. Does this have anything to do with wether your computer is determines as a 32 or 64 bit machine?

The system bus has nothing to do with weather your CPU is 8/16/32/64 bit. ISA/VESA/AGP/PCI/PCIx are all independent of the CPU.
