But you claim things like this all of the time.

That doesn't mean the information is wrong. It's not, unless that research has suddenly turned around, but that isn't possible due to the nature of it.

Actually that's backwards. So little is known about medicine, health, and diet that there is extremely little science in it and what people often think are facts often turn out to be old wives tales. There is actually extremely little that we actually know.

It's hard to argue with results, studies, and the science of it presently... I was referring to white rice and potatoes, and cheese, specifically. We already know the results of this, and they are conclusive. Do you feel it's possible scientists will suddenly say "Yes, we were totally wrong about white rice... gobble that shit up as much as you can! You'll live a longer and healthier life!"?

That's just silly. It's so easy to argue with the results that all of the studies already argue with each other. Everything people call "conclusive" today is considered "made up" tomorrow. Not just in food, but all areas of science. We change was is "conclusive" constantly. All depends on who is sponsoring the research.

potatoes rather than better proven and studied alternatives like sweet potatoes

There is actual very little evidence that sweet potatoes are better the white potatoes. It depends on the individual, their dietary needs, how well they process sugar and carbs etc.

The reality is we often associate white potatoes with fried food and sweet potatoes with grilled or baked. If we cooked them in the same fashion they'd have similar dietary effects. https://universityhealthnews.com/daily/nutrition/sweet-potatoes-vs-potatoes/

See, easy to argue and the "conclusive studies" don't agree with each other.

Agreed - if there isn't money to be made - who's going to bother with the research. This is why good health, preemptive health is something very few actually care about.

Loads of people care, but the people who would be the recipients of the knowledge, not the ones creating it. Creators have incentive to compete for sponsors or other money making schemes.

If enough caring people were willing to pay for the knowledge, then the creators would do it... I'm guessing those who care, aren't willing to pay.

Off to one of our sites to test a network point and re"end" see if that fixes it. Also test and check phone points.

Update: the culture in my house just developed agriculture, but have yet to domesticate wild oxen to increase planting productivity. We did, however, move from excarnation to cremation.

Here's the path to the study in that article:
                    https://universityhealthnews.com/daily/nutrition/are-potatoes-healthy-new-study-finds-an-alarming-risk/
                    then:
                    http://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/early/2015/12/09/dc15-0547

According to the articles, it says if you are already eating a perfect whole-foods based diet, only THEN white potatoes have a neutral effect on diabetes, and may decrease the risk.

And yet again, another study that verifies my diet suggestions.

So yeah, this just shows that if you do everything perfectly, one minor not-so-perfect thing shouldn't have much or any negative effect.

Are YOU eating a perfect diet? I know I don't, therefore I'll keep white potatoes to a minimum (I'm not perfect either), and continue to suggest they are avoided.

I never said you won't find articles claming anything. I said studies and science.

You can search for anything you can imagine, and find multiple articles stating what you search for as fact.

That is not at all what I was saying.

But if you actually read the articles, pointing to the studies and science like here:
                                      https://mangolassi.it/post/442789

You'll see that it's not how it seems to the article writer and the audience, until you actually dig in to it.

The same can be said with any food.

For example, if you have a PERFECT DIET, and you take a spoon full of sugar a couple times a week, I am willing to guess it won't be bad and may even have a benefit or two!

Edit: HOwever, if you take the direct advice of all of these articles for all the foods in the world, they'll have you eating all the bad things.

Anyone have screen shots on how to make a local account during log in with Windows 10? Got a user trying to set it up and all it will do is offer them online accounts.

Choose to setup on domain. At least that's what I've done.

So you choose the opposite and it gives you local?

Choose domain account and you get the 'older' style of account setup. After you get a local account, you'll be joined to workgroup in workgroup mode and then you could join a domain if desired.

                                        Go figger

To clarify, this is during setup, not login after you've created the online account

Yeah, I'm in setup stages over chat.
