Trying to do a Windows 2008 R2 fresh install over the phone without a technical person at the site!

Yikes. I am guessing there is a reason it is 2008 R2...

      Can't be a good one.

I was assuming you knew lol

Not me, I'm just the engineer.

Doing the full upgrade path to 2019 while you're at it?
        Sorry.

Are you going to be deploying RD Gateway?

I highly recommend this -- even if you're doing an internal only deployment.

Yeah, I have this right now. I am on 2008 R2, but need to migrate to 2016.

Do you need to migrate? you can't just move the data or app to a new VM?

            What I know:

            Do a fresh install of 2008 R2, on T310.

            That's the extent.

No. I need to upgrade our RDS licensing server to 2016 (we use RDS with Citrix). Figured I'd learn a bit about how RDS is supposed to be deployed, since prior to now, I've never touched it.
