I grew up not far from Canandaigua and used to work there in the late 1990s.

Grew up in Upstate NY...I didn't know half of those. Also, a couple of the "correct" pronunciations were not accurate. But overall, quite awesome!

Yeah, I noticed two that I thought were wrong and one that I'm not sure about.

Some of those are historically really important places. Some are little things that few people know. The one is a county name.

I'm surprised they didn't do Schenectady.

Seriously, that's a major city and the home of Thomas Edison and General Electric! It's also the epicenter of the NY pizza zone. And the home and namesake of the world's largest private chemical manufacturer.

Actually, Oneonta would have been a great one! There are a few different ways you could say that one if you didn't know the way it's common said, assuming you read it phonetically.

Yeah, but it is mostly pronounced like it looks.

                      It's not super easy though.

They should try Wisconsin towns too - Mukwonago, Sheboygen, Waukesha, Oconomowoc, Ozaukee, etc.

A lot of them are Native American + French mixed in for good measure.

Michigan too. Pretty much any state that had heavy AmerIndian influence or bordered a French zone.

Might have been a tad more amusing if they had found some redneck Texans to attempt those...

                                Definitely. Might have gotten inappropriate.

Redneck Texans have enough trouble with English alone. Forget adding in Native American names.
