So many nice places like that in the Austria / Switzerland area. I really need to go there sometime.
Hallstatt is so amazing, easily the number one place that I see photos come up from. And it really looks like that in person. Sadly, it has become overrun by tourists since Rick Steves leaked it in the early 2000s. It's not just gorgeous, it's one of the most important historic sites in Europe.

@obsolesce yup, possibly the single most quintessential European destination ever. And don't be foolish and use the new tunnel road. Take the train to the ferry like has been done for forever.

There is a matching playground on the Hallstatt side of the lake where my wife fell off the zip line. It's funny.
