I've been to everything in this picture. That's the state history museum on the near left, the Mother Teresa Memorial Cathedral that is round (this is her home town), that's the Foreign Office in the back left (the building where the revolution took place while I was there), I've been to that boat, I've walked those bridges, I had dinner in that lit area behind the boat.

Hallstatt is so amazing, easily the number one place that I see photos come up from. And it really looks like that in person. Sadly, it has become overrun by tourists since Rick Steves leaked it in the early 2000s. It's not just gorgeous, it's one of the most important historic sites in Europe.

@obsolesce yup, possibly the single most quintessential European destination ever. And don't be foolish and use the new tunnel road. Take the train to the ferry like has been done for forever.
