You know what is terrible about working in IT, is going to get into bed and wondering "was there something that I was supposed to be doing before I called it a day?"

I do that all the time, but that's why you cover as much as you can.

I just realized I forgot to leave a couple of laptops in the coworker cabinet for Monday morning class.

On the hunt for a cheap SATA pci-express RAID card for a ESXi server

Buy a used / refurbished one

Yeah that's what I was looking at this morning. Think I found a LSI MegaRAID 9260-4i SAS Raid Controller PCI-E maybe the 8i model. Both look like they support ESXi and 4tb SATA

                      xByte or Stallard Tech (www.stikc.com).

I would but I'm in the UK and need it Tuesday/Wednesday

Installing a shitty old homelab server, can't wait til I can afford something at least more modern...this doesn't run later than ESXi 5.1u3

What about using KVM? Linux has a better support when it comes to old hardware.

I think I will once I've finished with this, just a few vSphere/vCentre things I needed to re-familiarise myself with and this is all I have at hand unfortunately.
