      Flameshot
      https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lupoDharkael/flameshot/master/img/appPreview/animatedUsage.gif

      This is by far so much better than the Shutter or the built-in Gnome Screenshot tool.

      Normally, I prefer and only install software from a repo... but I think this will be the only exception. Using it with a keyboard shortcut, it's too good to be true... but it's true! You can even grab right-click menus thanks to the ability to keyboard shortcut it.

      Installation

      1. Install prerequisites:
        dnf install qt5-devel gcc-c++ git qt5-qtbase-devel qt5-linguist

      2. Download Flameshot from here:
        https://github.com/lupoDharkael/flameshot

      3. Then run the following command from within the Flameshot directory:
        qmake-qt5 && make

      4. Install:
        make install

      Keyboard Shortcut

      1. Remove desired keyboard shortcut if it's already in use.

      2. Create a keyboard shortcut to launch the following command:
        flameshot gui

      Enjoy!

      Simply use your new keyboard shortcut to take screenshots or screen clippings, with the ability to edit them in real-time!

      Note: I've only tried it on Fedora 27 Workstation in Gnome 3.26. It works perfectly so far.

          I love being able to edit and manipulate screenshots in real-time... before it even gets to the clipboard or saving it. So damn convenient.

          Now I can uninstall GIMP.

                I used the peek program here
                https://github.com/phw/peek

                They have an installer for Fedora
                https://github.com/phw/peek#fedora

                In my case I needed to make my own deb package.

                  Nice, I hate always having to hit all the extra steps to edit, but shutter is so much better than the built in. But this just looks awesome.

                  I do right click menus in shutter all the time too since I bind it to a shortcut key.

                  But this looksmuch nicer.

                    @dbeato you need to leave a blank line between a quoted post and your reply.

                    This annoys the fuck out of me when people do this..

                    Do you all not look at your posts after you make them?

                        How is it while using Wayland?
                        The app is experimental with Wayland support.

                          That's what I'm using, and it all seems 100% fine to me.
