I like Linphone. My end-users are indifferent about it. I haven't tried many other softphones to see if I can replicate the responsive firewall issues I've had with my Linphone users.

Linphone is specific to the Linux environment. For Windows Zoiper is generally the go-to software.

          I retract my previous statement.

A lot of people use Zoiper.

Linphone has run fine for me on Windows. Frankly, it's run better for me on Windows than Linux 😛

I'm looking at Bria as well. I like how you can have one license key to manage. Also, it looks like there isn't a limit to the number of times a license can be reassigned. What makes me hesitate about Zoiper, is I know that I'll need to reassign a license more than three times due to turn over and role changes.

Are you using the same version for Windows and Linux? The Linux version is old compare to Windows. You have to use flatpak to install the latest version for Linux.

Likely not. I haven't touched in on Linux in a month or so. Next time I mess around with it, I'll make sure to install it with flatpak.

We purchase Bria licensing here and it seems to work well. I don't use it personally so I cannot share any end-user experience with it. However, we do have some users who ask for it specifically and prefer it over a physical phone.

I would try Linphone and ZoIPer. If neither of those make your users happy, then buy Bria. It is a really nice solution.
