I recall reading about this last year and thinking it was too good to be true.
Now it has supposedly been verified by a third party and will head to the scientific community at large.

I thought cold fusion was dead. Oh wait, I'm thinking of the language.

Adobe made Flash 🙂 I had no idea that they were making CF too. How did I miss that?

I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I remember when I was at IBM they had ColdFusion. We were joking about what a bad idea it was even then. That would have been around 2001.

Talk about hijacking a post. I find it interesting that nobody wants to be too quick to call it "cold fusion". Still, the mere (substantiated?) thought that this thingy can crank out that kind of energy... that's pretty impressive, and scary. It's about one step shy of having a time machine or teleportation device. Think of the implications and geopolitical tensions that could cause. Just how radically would it change our world, and in what ways that we aren't even thinking of?

When everyone has unlimited power, no one has power?

It's just the shifting of the balance of power on the world stage that is scary. Let alone the fact that the average person can't be trusted with that kind of a power source.

They can't be trusted with a fireplace, but we let them have those.

It came about when they bought Macromedia. Along with Dreamweaver and Flash.

And then adobe took them and made them slow and bloated. At least they aren't near as bad as they were a few years ago.

There was no talk that I have seen on production level costs yet though.
