At just two hundred and forty Euros, this is a pretty cheap entry point into the ARM laptop space. The TERES-I is a quad core ARM RISC based laptop with 2GB RAM, 11.6" 1366x768 display, 16GB SSD, HDMI, USB, and more. The biggest issue is likely the highly limited RAM.

      TERES-I

The laptop is designed around Linux, so lots of options as to what to install here.

Give me 4GB+ and I'd be all over that. An open Chromebook alternative, that could be really sweet.

          Is Chromebook ARM based?

            Depends. I have a Toshiba that's a dual Celeron.

Is there an option to expand the ram or is it soldered into place with no option for expansion at all?

They can be either ARM or x86.

                  I didn't see when looking.

                    Not necessarily. Mine is.

AMD64, not x86. No 32bit options for Chromebooks.

You can see the lack of slots here. It's a SoC, no way to expand.

Looks like other model boards will be released at some point with more RAM / CPU options.

Gee, I'd expect a much better price point for something that you have to assemble....

                              That would be pretty cool.

They seem to be promoting the self assembly as a benefit.

Of course, for that price and specs, you could just get a Chromebook and put Linux on it.

Oh yeah, that makes more sense. LOL.
