Port - Question about SugarCRM CRM - Local to sugarondemand.com

We are trying to migrate from a local version of Sugar CRM to a cloud version at sugarondemand.com. I was given this project and have some questions and don't readily see any good answers for.

Is it possible to restore backup data created locally to sugarondemand.com?
Is there anyway to export data from the local application in a way to preserve all the new line/carriage returns for import into the cloud version?
I am talking about exporting & importing individual sections (ie: Leads, Contacts, Accounts...) into the application.
I hope that makes sense. If not let me now and I will try to clarify.
