Microsoft Ditches Passwords to Return to One Factor Authentication

Microsoft's authentication app is promising and nice, but what should be a useful encouragement to get people to two factor authentication is now used to remove the password requirement leaving you with... one factor authentication again.
Also, passwords are limited to a mere sixteen characters.
