FreePBX 14 Release Candidate is out

Very cool.

I've been considering loading this up in my home lab. I've had limited experience with VoIP using one of Mitel's products 15 years ago when this was all new. Other than that I have only used Hosted PBX services.
Is it better to start with FreePBX 14 or 13?

Start with 13 and use my basic guide unless you like pain.
Not saying FreePBX 14 is bad, but It is stilljsut a release candidate. If you know nothing, stick with stuff you can google answers for or ask others.
-
It'll be out soon, but definitely don't make an RC your first experience.

@JaredBusch I am a big reader. Would love to check out your guide. Where can I find it?

Does this work with Twilio API? I have a feeling I am not going to live down asking this.
I do know TWIML :lifter:

Linux 7.3 isn't the right term, but we can infer that it is CentOS 7.3 (Linux is only up to 4.10 itself) under the hood, which is awesome!

Yes, we know it is CentOS7 with some of their own things added in to get PHP 5.6 and a few other things. So they cannot say CentOS

How long before they rename it Sangoma FreePBX?
The admin portal already reminds me of Godaddy with all of its banner ad articles.
Something I was discussing with someone the other day. If you don't purchase their System Admin module how do you update?

It depends on what you're talking about. Modules never been updated anywhere except module Admin. Operating system updates I've never been updated anywhere except be in the operating system in this case Yum package manager. There is the single firmware per se update that is automated or can be automated via SysAdmin pro but you can also do that with a single command line.

Never. It's still FreePBX. In the last year we've actually done more open source work than the year before.

Through module admin. Nothing has changed there. All we did was change the ability to update the system from system admin to module admin. So you update the system there now. Automated system updates have always required a purchase to System Admin, so again nothing has changed here except for where it's at and how it works (slightly).
For modules you still upgrade them through Module admin.

This is Zulu now and customers are using the chat functionality. It's not internal. Not sure why it would matter if it was an internal Beta Edition anyways.
