And so its just this "notes app" that is buggy, back to the original thread...

Yes, this is not a core feature. It is an app you have to enable.

Are you guys using this in production or just testing it out? This thread reminds me of the horrible experience we had switching from dropbox to egnyte.

        NextCloud 11 in production.

Also it looks like its free and open source, is the enterprise pricing just a support bundle or does it add functionality?

The product is 100% free and open source. Enterprise is just support.

@JaredBusch I noticed in my activity feed on NC11 that it claims that I renamed the file back to New Note. It's one thing to have the bug, but another to accuse me of being the one that renamed it! 😉

I'm checking out QOwnNotes now to see how it works.

@scottalanmiller certainly sounds like a bug, yeah. I never really used the app myself so I can't speak for it but I would suggest to file an issue 😉

We just had the NC Notes totally blow away a document of data from this "rollback" mechanism that seems to be there. Sadly, it's not safe to use. So uninstalling the app. Too dangerous to try to use. Too bad, it had a lot of promise. But keeping the data safe is kind of fundamental.

So post on the developers github or wherever. Do not bitch here and not report. It would never be fixed if no one reports it.

I did report, did you look on Github?

It's also important for NC to see it. They have it as an included app that shows up and if customers lose data, that's not a good selling point for them on the system. They need to be aware, too.

note that it being on our apps.nextcloud.com site doesn't mean it is 'included' 😉

But it is available so yeah, reason to have a good look and warn users. Thanks for the bugreport, I hope this can be fixed soon. Losing data is an absolute no-no.

Understood. Does appear that way, though.

True, we designed the app store in such a way that it doesn't really differentiate between apps that are included or those that need to be downloaded, other than in the "enabled' and 'disabled' sections.

You're proving that we succeeded. Also that it has downsides 😛

Hmmm... I wonder which is better. Maybe a little flag of some sort. Having something official would be good. And having something of a rating would be nice.

Yeah, we want to add a rating, but we keep debating the how/what of the rating 😉

Will be there some day. And an 'official' flag exists, some apps have it, others don't.
