What is the price difference? Until the agents are completely out there. SPC offers the ability to backup physical or virtual servers. Veeam was (centrally) virtual only.

The new Veeam Windows and Linux agents are separate products and licensing. They are new and in beta. I would never put a production environment on beta backup software. It's too new. Id rather go with a vendor who's already both physical and virtual in the same product naturally, if you know what I mean

New, but out for a year or more. It's the central control that is new. The Windows agent, for example, people have had in use for quite some time.
