the plastic at the connection point in my wife's laptop was entirely shattered. The brass nuts that were glued to that plastic was just floating free. I pull out the scrap bits and and used epoxy to fill the void then pushed the brass into the epoxy. Now it's cured and strong. working like when it was new! yeah.

This is the same type as @Minion-Queen free laptop.

Between needing to run to the grocery store, random people popping over and the village expecting us to attend some thing that we were not told about my entire day is lost. I pretty much never got to sit down and do anything. Nothing. So many interruptions that I've actually lost a full day.

You're not a resident, they they expected you to attend something? seems odd.

Probably just a good neighborhood or maybe old traditions? We had something similar when had our holidays in the Czech Republic, maybe 20 years ago. We just asked for the way in a village in the middle of nowhere and had to attend to their small village festival 🙂 Awesome people.

Dropping vzw, moving to att since I'm directv customer, only saving about $30 a month, but the benefits of streaming directv, tethering, etc. plus a $50 iPad mini with LTE. Only saving about $700 there....

Check TMobile, I think that they have better DirecTV deals than AT&T.

AT&T bought DirectTV long time ago (merger completed July 2015).

Yeah, really. TMobile has been making a huge deal about how it is a better deal with TMobile than with AT&T. Just because AT&T owns it doesn't mean that they give the best deals on it. It's free with TMobile all year.

DirecTV and Hulu are both part of the unlimited "doesn't count against your cap" streaming on TMobile now as well. I know that if you come from AT&T, DirecTV is free for a year on TMobile as is Hulu Plus.

TMobile is mocking AT&T for spending so much on the service too.
