Ok so here's the goal, to be able to export the track changes from a document, and then to be able to edit those track changes to remove things such as "fixed a typo".

Short of using an online converter, which may be what we do, is there a better approach to doing this?

So within word, there is an option to export a document and track changes, but to XPS only.....

          Actually one second, testing..

Ok yeah nope my thought won't work.

So here's the deal XPS document are essentially PDFs in design, they aren't editable. I can use an online converter to convert an XPS document, back into a word document but would rather not use an online service to accomplish this.

I would like to find a solution that can be done locally on the user system.

And the only reason that I'm using XPS is because you can print just the track changes. . . I'm curious if I can just create a new document with just the track changes...

              That would work. ..

OK I have a solution that will work.

Print the document to XPS, and then open the document using the XPS Viewer. Using CutePDF then print the XPS document to PDF, and lastly open the PDF in Word which allows you to edit and save the document back as a word document.

                Or PDF or whatever else.

With Windows 10 and Word 2016, can't you just print to Microsoft Print to PDF and then open it in word?

Not just the track changes in a single page without the content.
